Day 6 Thornton in Craven - Malham : Such a thing as too many cows

Thornton in Craven - Malham 13 miles 6 hours

We had a wonderful stay in the Fernside, it really felt like a treat stop! Andrew's breakfast was the stuff of hiker dreams and not an egg in sight! We had fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and PANCAKES! As we enjoyed these delights, the rain really came down and we feared the worst for the day. Truth was, by some miracle we avoided most of the rain all, only with the odd shower and rumble of thunder.

To be honest, day 6 will probably go down as the most forgettable. Dad has offered some Geordie to sum up the day which is "clarty". We trudged through lots of water-logged fields, shin high in sticky mud with filled with cows - and you know how we feel about cows.

The highlight was meeting the Sheerins in The Lister Arms for some love grub and conversation. We're off to what should be one of the best days of the trip tomorrow, personally one I have been looking forward to from the start. If you are all worrying why there was no blog entry today, Malham has no internet or phone reception.

Thanks for your sun dances today..it worked a treat.
